Our Worship Services
Thank you for your interest in worshipping with us!
We hope that the information provided below will answer your questions.
We have two services on Sunday that offer different styles of worship.
We celebrate Holy Communion at both services on the first Sunday of the month. We offer an open table where all are invited to participate if they desire. The people in each row are invited to come forward to receive the bread and wine (well, we use grape juice). Gluten free elements are also provided.
Greeting guests - Information is available to answer any questions you may have about the church.
Passing of the Peace - During each service, this is a short time where the attendees are invited to stand and greet those around them. Some people just shake hands and say 'Good morning'; others say things like 'The peace of Christ be with you.'
Our services typically last a little more than an hour. If there is a special activity, such as a baptism, they may run a little longer.
When you pull into our driveway from Pecan St., there are several parking spaces on the left reserved for guests. We offer additional handicapped parking on the east side of the Sanctuary. Please feel free to use one of those when you visit us. If all the spaces in the front of our property are taken, continue straight and there is a large parking lot in the back of the property.
Where do I go once I get there?
Our campus consists of four main buildings. On the right (looking from Pecan St.) is the sanctuary which includes the nursery. On the left (looking from Pecan St.) is the Education Building, which houses children's Small Groups. The Administration Building houses our church office and adult classrooms. The Family Life Center is where the 11:15 Worship service meets and also where you can find youth rooms and the fellowship hall. We usually have coffee and treats available in the Sanctuary and Family Life Center on Sunday mornings.
When you walk into one of the worship services, you'll find greeters handing out bulletins and ready to answer any questions you may have. We have "Busy Bags" for young children available at our information center in the Sanctuary.
Please take a seat wherever you want.
We are a casual congregation but you will typically see a more formal attire during our 9:00 a.m. Worship and more casual attire during our 11:15 a.m. Worship.
Can I bring my children into the service?
Children of all ages are welcome in our worship services. We consider children a valuable part of our worship. We also offer childcare during all of our Sunday services. The baby nursery (0-18 months) and the toddler room (18 months-3 years) are located in the sanctuary building. These nurseries are also available during the Sunday morning Small Group Hour.
For children who join our worship services, we offer additional activities for them:
For services in the Sanctuary Building, activity bags are available at the hospitality center located in the entry. During our 9:00 a.m. Worship a short Children's Sermon is given, inviting all children up to 5th grade to the altar area. Our Worship and Wiggles Room is located at the back of the sanctuary for parents use at any time while still participating in worship. The room is specifically designed with the preschool aged child in mind!
For the 11:15 Worship in the Family Life Center, large tables and chairs with craft activities and puzzles are available in the back of the room. Children and parents are invited to spend part or all of the service in this area while still participating in the worship.
Please ask a greeter if you have any questions about children during worship services.
Changes to the normal worship schedule.
On designated Sundays we may have activities other than our regularly scheduled services. On Go Day, we invite people to participate in a variety of activities geared toward serving our community. Also, we will sometimes have one combined worship service in the Sanctuary as opposed to two different services. The dates of these activities are given weeks in advance.
