Groups & Activities

Sunday worship is only a small part of the life of this congregation. Much of our activity takes place in smaller groups. We invite you to become involved where your interest lies.

United Methodist Men

The United Methodist Men is a group of Christ-centered men supporting men in our walk of faith, service, church and community.  We’re committed to share the love of Christ through our actions, pfun, pfood and pfellowship.  All men are welcome to join out casual, open-door gatherings.  We meet the 3rd Saturday of each month at 7:30 a.m. for breakfast. “Ordinary guys doing extraordinary stuff through Jesus Christ.” Please contact the UMM contact for more information.

United Methodist Women

United Methodist Women is an organization whose purpose is to foster spiritual growth, develop leaders and advocate for justice. United Methodist Women provides an opportunity for women of all ages to learn more about worldwide missions while making friendships in small group and large group settings. Please contact the UMW leaders for more information.

The 'I Forgot' Bunch

This is a group of retirees who gather on the 3rd Thursday of each month for fellowship and day trips.  They attend different places, exhibits or events using the church van, or they stay at church for food, fun, and fellowship.  Singles and couples are welcome.  We accept donations for gas for the church vans.

Scouting

The Boy Scouts of America are a chartered organization with FUMC of Pflugerville. A Boy Scout Troop and Cub Scout Troop meet regularly at FUMC. Members of FUMC who are also leaders in the scouting program serve as liaisons between the church and the scouts. Those persons are asked to serve by the Lay Leadership Committee and elected by the Charge Conference. They are members of the Administrative Council. The Girl Scouts also have troops which meet at FUMC. Please contact the Girl Scout leaders for more information.

Yoga

Kim Moser is a personal fitness trainer who will lead you through this one hour yoga class.  This is a mental and physical  exercise class aimed at producing spiritual enlightenment, while gaining flexibility, strength, coordination and reducing stress.  All levels are welcome. Kim will help you modify the program to meet your needs.  Class meets on Tuesday evenings from 7:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. in the Family Life Center upstairs.

Overeaters Anonymous

Overeaters Anonymous is open to anyone who wishes to stop eating compulsively. We are not a diet and calories club. Instead, we seek freedom from food obsession in all its aspects through emotional, spiritual and physical healing. Please join us for a meeting and to pick up a free copy of our literature. If you are one of us, we welcome you with open arms.
