About Us

Pflugerville First United Methodist ChurchWelcome to our online front door! Come on in. We're thrilled to have you as a guest.

You're probably wondering who we are. Well, our vision statement gives you an idea: "Having fun and seeking and sharing God together." That's right! We are a church that has fun! Joy, after all, is one of the gifts that God shares with us.

We have fun in a million different ways from Parents' Night Out for children, to occasional "Messy Games" nights for our youth, to a Christmas gift exchange for the adults that's a barrel of laughs. We even have fun in worship as we celebrate God's goodness each and every Sunday.

Pastor Monte MarshallBut fun is not our goal; it's a byproduct of our "seeking and sharing God together." As the phrase suggests, we're big on relationships. We are seeking an ever-deepening relationship with the God we come to know in Jesus Christ, and actually experience through the Holy Spirit. Once in this relationship, we've discovered that there is so much of God to share: love, grace, peace, community, mission and more.

The "together" part also says something about how we view our relationships with one another. We are in this "together." Now we're not perfect in our "togetherness." All of us have our issues that we bring to the table. But that's okay because we're here to help one another heal and grow into the people God dreams for us to be.

Guitar playerWe're also on a mission: "Loving God and one another on a journey of discipleship." We're all learners (that's what it means to be a "disciple") on a road that takes us from one adventure to another. It's always exciting and sometimes even downright scary!

You see, we're following Jesus Christ into the world to discover how to love God and others—not just in theory, but in practice. He's our teacher (and a great one at that!). We're learning from him how to function in our families, find purpose in our work, use our wealth, love our enemies, forgive those who hurt us, work for peace and justice, and serve others with humility and compassion. He's set the bar pretty high. After all, he's out to transform the world—and frankly, we're amazed that he's invited us along for the ride.

Well, that's just a hint of who we are. Now that you've come through our online front door, stay awhile, make yourself comfortable, take a look around the web site and see what else you can discover.

Better yet, come and see us face-to-face. There's also a front door at 500 E. Pecan Street in Pflugerville, TX. We'd be thrilled to have you as a guest. God bless you.

Grace and peace,
Monte Marshall
